Basically, it was report that it was the assistant's obsession to work for the rap mogul, so he was always "accidentally on purpose" running into Diddy at different events, always saying hello and giving his phone number.
As the story goes, Puffy remembered Bentley because he was always dressed nice (and uniquely). After a lot of persistence, Sean Combs finally gave the aspiring assistant his chance and made him a celebrity PA.
