all celebrities need a confidant

Why celebrities need trusted assistants

What do you think celebrities need most? When someone is on top of the world, they don't need money or fame, they need people they can trust. High-profile celebrities are surrounded by business entities who are pumping stars for money, and they one thing they need most is a true right hand and confidant to trust. That's where personal assistants come in.

Believe it or not, being an A-list celebrity can be very lonely and isolating; and that's why they need that one person in their lives that they can trust with all of their secrets. In short, a celebrity assistant is a much bigger role than just running errands and managing appointments.

Why celebrities need trusted advisors like assistants

For decades, we've seen first hand what the business of being a celebrity can do to some. When celebrity status becomes overwhelming, some A-listers turn to substance abuse to cope. Why does this happen? It's because they don't have trusted advisors in their inner circles. Instead, they have enablers and sycophants.

Hiring the wrong assistant can be detrimental to celebrities

While it's true that having a celebrity PA by your side can be a good thing, it can also be catastrophic to not have the right one either. When celebrities make the wrong decision about who they let into their lives, it can become problematic. Take, for example, the singer Lady Gaga. She hired her former friend to be her personal assistant, which turned out to be a bad idea. They became entangled in a legal battle, which ultimately cost Lady Gaga millions of dollars to resolve.

There have been countless other celebrities and billionaires who have had legal trouble with their staff: Jennifer Lopez, the Kardashians, Robert DeNiro, and Jeff Bezos. While it's impossible to completely avoid trouble with household staff, it can be greatly minimized by hiring a domestic staffing agency that's run be a professional who comes from the celebrity world.

What should be considered when hiring celebrity staff?

Even if you're not a celebrity or billionaire, hiring the right person to let into your personal life to run your household should be taken very seriously. And, of course, if you're a high-net-worth individual, then you have a lot more to lose.

At the Celebrity Personal Assistant Network, we have a special understanding of what celebrities, sports stars and affluent families need because our founder -- Brian Daniel -- comes from that world. He's been a personal assistant, confidant, chief of staff, and right hand to many high-profile families. He has true "pedigree" when it comes to advising famous families about household staffing.
