In the heart of Arezzo, Central Italy, there is a secret gallery where you can buy dinosaurs, space suits, lunar fragments, or the original Harry Potter wand. Luca Cableri is the owner of Theatrum Mundi.
He travels the world hunting for impossible objects. Theatrum Mundi is closed to the public. Only customers and the press have the opportunity to enter. So, have your personal assistant reach out to get you an appointment if you’re not already a secret member.
But who buys a T-Rex skull or Thor's hammer? I'm taking a rather special, but silent, house friend into the office today. Let me show you. This ultra-wealthy man has Batman’s original costume from the movie.
As you will notice he is a rather steady and impressive personality but quite silent, he's never talking back to me.
I met Luca at an art fair in Brussels a few years ago. Well, in fact I ended up buying quite some very rare items from Luca, amongst which you see a few of them here next to me (referring to the rare movie prop).
First there is my Batman - he's not joining us for the interview, he's a bit silent. But then there's also an original piece of the moon, and an original piece from Mars.
I bought some, quite simply, as an investment, to be honest. Because if you buy rare pieces and special pieces - really Luca is a specialist to be able to gather them, it's really unique in the world for the wealthy and it's a good investment.
But secondly, you enjoy it every day when you look at it. The collectibles inspire you and makes one think about the world. It gives a person many ideas. You get amazing reactions, and you can enjoy it daily until the day you sell it.
