John Lennon's assistant talks about the singer's death
Former assistant to John Lennon, Dan Richter, feels that the legendary singer may be alive today if he had had better security back in the 1980s. The Grammy winner was assassinated 42 years ago in front of his NYC apartment.
Dan's feeling is that the front door of the apartment building was too high profile, and that a side door should have been used instead. As an assistant to Lennon, Dan was concerned about it.

The personal assistant to John Lennon had feared being shot
As the story goes, Lennon's assistant had been fearing death right up until the point that John was shot. Little did he know that the would-be assassin has been waiting nearby and had even got an autograph from Lennon just hours before he shot the singer.
Ultimately, Lennon was shot in the back five times by Mark David Chapman, who is now 67 years old and still languishing in prison. John had two sons that he left behind, Julian and Sean.
