JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our client in South Florida is a celebrated best-selling author in need of a great executive personal assistant. Ideally, the PA should have prior experience with a writer or other public figure that required the assistant to interact with agents, publicity reps, lawyers, etc. For the most part, the candidate will be working in the employer’s home office and a standard work week of 40 hours is expected; however, when a book release occurs, the PA will have extended hours/workload and could require some road trips during the author’s publicity tour to sign books, promote, etc.
In addition to being a New York Times best-selling author, the writer is a subject-matter expert in their field and regularly appears on cable television programs like CNN, CNBC and Bloomberg, so if the personal assistant has experience dealing with various media outlets, then all the better.
This is a hybrid EA/PA position, so it will require a mix of responsibilities, both personal and professional: correspondence, handling calendars/scheduling, running errands, occasionally caring for pets, research, organizing parties, booking travel arrangements, liaison to publishers and vendors (and other domestic staff: gardeners, pool cleaners, maids, etc.).
