What's the difference between a celebrity PA and virtual assistant?
Very busy celebrities often employ a small army of assistants, each with their own set of responsibilities. Here is a summary of the roles:
- PERSONAL ASSISTANT: This role is a more traditional "boots on the ground" job. The PA will run errands, go grocery shopping, get the cars washed, walk pets, etc.
- EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT: This job is more on the corporate side. They frequently work out of a home office in the estate of the celebrity. They interface with business entities: Agents, managers, lawyers, studio chiefs, etc.
- VIRTUAL ASSISTANT (VA): This position is 100% virtual. They don't really need to be interacting with the celebrity or VIP face to face. The VA will usually work out of their own home, and they sometimes share duties with the other assistants, like calendar management. Virtual Assistants also do social media updates and help keep a celebrity in the public eye.
