Assistants at the Grammy Awards

It's time for the Grammy Awards again, and personal assistants are in full swing. This is the time of year that PAs need to go into overdrive to keep up with the break-neck pace of the music industry.

What do assistants at the Grammy awards do?

Whenever a music artist is nominated for an award or is performing at the Grammy ceremony, they typically need to hire additional personal assistants to help with the extra workload.

The Executive PA is the main hub for the rock star's communication: managers, agents, publicity reps, personal trainers, fashion stylists, nutritionists, etc. But when awards season rolls around, the workload becomes enormous and additional assistance is needed. 

Red Carpet Assistants

The Grammy Awards has a long-standing tradition of musical artists who "glam it up" while walking the red carpet. Having a big entourage is only the start because the outfits that the divas wear need an assistant to "fluff the dress" and manage the long train. That PA will also be in charge of touching up make up as well. 

Backstage Assistants

After the A-list musical artist wins an armful of Grammy Awards, someone has to carry them after the photo ops backstage are finished. Well, there's an assistant for that. The PA will also be in charge of carrying things like water bottles and other personal items for the stars. 

Umbrella Holders & Afterparty Assistants

A Grammy-winning musical superstar's entourage wouldn't be complete without an umbrella holder and afterparty assistant. After all, "somebody's gotta do it." 

Long after the Grammy ceremony is over, the stars will hop from party to party, and while the A-lister's nutritionists and agents are asleep, the PA is up all-night catering to the needs of the musician. If it's raining, the assistant will tag along with the celebrity holding an umbrella to make sure they don't get wet.
