Save the Assistants: A Guide to Surviving and Thriving in the Workplace

the history of Save the Assistants
Here is an archive of all things related to Save the Assistants --the book and the website by Lilit Marcus.

What is Save the Assistants?

From approximately 2006 to 2012, Save the Assistants was a website written by Lilit Marcus. It was located at www.SaveTheAssistants.com. Although the site is no longer active, copies of the book are still available on eBay, Amazon, and other outlets.

History of the Website

At first, the website was a sleeper, but a few events launched it into superstardom. Namely, the hit movie called The Devil Wears Prada put personal assistants and their bad bosses in the spotlight. Slowly but surely, readers started finding the "Save the Assistants" blog.

One after another, media outlets like CNN and NPR started running stories about the blog, which prompted Lilit Marcus to write the book: Save the Assistants: A Guide to Surviving and Thriving in the Workplace.

Is there a PDF copy of the book to read online?

No PDF copies of the book exist, but there are Kindle Editions for sale. Several online book outlets like Amazon also sell paperback copies as well. If you want to read Save the Assistants online for free, there are no platforms for that.

What happened to SaveTheAssistants.com?

As you might expect, all things have a beginning and an end. From 2006 to 2012, personal assistants were an important part of pop culture, but things wore off. Celebrities stopped throwing cell phones at their assistants, and so the website shut down. It has since been taken over by domain squatters.
