Grammar Refresher for Adults
The BIGGEST complaint that employers have these days is that they say candidates can't "write." Let's face it, most of us learned grammar in 2nd and 3rd grade, so we have forgotten about "the rules." 

Although we should be graduating from college and have "college-level writing," most don't. Universities are just pushing students through the system, and they mainly focus on whether or not the student got the citations correct, and college professors don't focus on teaching writing. 

So, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND that all job seekers take the following three steps:
  • Sign up for Grammarly to check everything you write.
  • Take an online business writing class through a low-cost platform like Udemy, Coursera or edX.
  • BEFORE you take the business writing class, take a grammar refresher course for adults (see below).
The Rochester New York School District has an online grammar course for adults that teaches all of the things that you have probably forgotten about: 8 parts of speech, punctuation (especially commas), phrases, verb agreement (and verb tenses), and common sentence problems -- among other things.
