Summary
The client is seeking a thoughtful, capable, and engaging live-in Property Assistant to support a private residence in Monterey County, California. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys a peaceful environment, the outdoors, gardening, simple cooking, and becoming a trusted presence in the daily life of an independent principal.
The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in creating a well-cared-for home and enjoys the balance of hands-on responsibilities, companionship, and independence. Responsibilities will include tending to the gardens and property, preparing a dinner, making tea or fresh juice, assisting with errands and driving, helping with light household tasks, and occasionally accompanying the principal on walks or outings around the property.
This is not a traditional caregiving role. The principal values privacy, autonomy, and genuine connection. The right person will have strong emotional intelligence; someone who knows when to engage and when to give space, who is naturally observant, dependable, and comfortable taking initiative without needing constant direction. The ideal candidate is warm, curious, and interesting to be around, with a genuine appreciation for nature, the arts, gardening, or a slower-paced lifestyle.
Someone who enjoys meaningful work, beautiful surroundings, and creating a positive impact through the small details will thrive in this special environment.
