Summary
A private family with two residences in metro Detroit is seeking a professional, hands-on Executive Housekeeper to maintain their homes to the highest standards. This role supports daily cleaning, organization, seasonal projects, pet-related tasks, and smooth household operations in partnership with a small team (Property Manager, part-time Housekeeper, Gardener/IT support).
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a mature, flexible, upbeat attitude, strong organizational abilities, and comfort working both independently and collaboratively. The household values long-term employees, offering training, clarity, and a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
Housekeeping & Household Presentation
- Maintain both residences with exceptional attention to cleanliness, organization, and daily presentation.
- Care for fine furnishings, artwork, antiques, specialty finishes, and delicate materials.
- Manage rotating deep-clean schedules, seasonal cleaning, and monthly cleaning projects.
- Oversee carpet, upholstery, silver, furniture, woodwork care, and holiday decorating.
- Tackle longer-term or deferred projects when the family is not in residence.
- Supervise and collaborate with part-time housekeeper; assist with hands-on tasks as needed.
- Oversee laundry and linen care: bedding changes, personal laundry, ironing, towel rotation.
- Track dry cleaning in/out for multiple vendors.
Household Management and Administration
- Maintain household inventories, manuals, and simple filing systems.
- Order and manage all cleaning supplies; keep inventories current.
- Support light household stocking, grocery lists, and occasional errands.
- Assist with online orders, returns, and simple Outlook updates (preferred).
- Comfortable learning and using Outlook Contacts/Calendar, Excel, and Word.
- Assist with scheduling for social, medical, business, pets, vendors, employees, and repairs.
- Coordinate IT/tech support with employers and the Gardener/IT helper.
Financial Coordination
- Scan, organize, and submit timecards to the family accountant for payroll.
- Review and enter 3–4 routine monthly household bills online.
- When principals are away, scan/email bills for approval prior to submitting to accountant.
Property & Vendor Support
- Communicate maintenance needs to the Property Manager; help oversee vendor access.
- Coordinate with part-time staff (housekeeper, gardener, seasonal helpers).
- Support seasonal household activities and small family gatherings.
- Assist with pet-related oversight: comfortable around animals, not allergic to cats, able to coordinate or arrange weekend pet care if needed.
Wine Support (Optional, not required)
- Assist with wine ordering, storage, and racking.
- Support quarterly inventory data entry (Excel) with outside help as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years in an Executive Housekeeper or similar role in a private residence.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning methods for fine materials, artwork, antiques, and specialty surfaces.
- Experience managing household inventories, manuals, and rotating task schedules.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain impeccable household standards.
- Experience in personal or professional budgeting or household bill oversight (helpful but not required).
- Comfortable with family members, guests, pets, and visiting children.
- Clear communicator with a warm, service-minded demeanor.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license for errands if required.
- Tech-comfortable or tech-trainable (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
- Self-starter with maturity, professionalism, flexibility, and sense of humor.
- Must be cat-friendly and able to coordinate pet care when needed.
