Why is etiquette a problem for private staff in modern households?

In the "olden days," household staff were trained in etiquette and manners. Nowadays, households aren't so formal, especially in the United States, but that doesn't mean the private service staff shouldn't behaving too loosely in the home.

There is a lack of training schools for household staff

First things first: There is a lack of affordable and convenient options for etiquette training for household staff, especially in the United States. 

It's been about ten years since the TV show Downton Abbey went off the air. Believe it or not, at the height of the show's fame, there were two different butler schools (i.e. House Manager Schools) that did etiquette training for private staff in the USA, but they are now closed.
